Day 1 – arrival, hotel accommodation and dinner in the hotel restaurant
Day 2 – PALERMO
After breakfast today, we begin our explorations with a guided tour of Palermo. During our introduction to Sicily’s capital, we discover both the medieval quarter and the ‘new’ city, which dates back to the 17th century. With a long history of invasion, Palermo features a number of different architectural styles and a great cusine which has been influenced by different cultures. After time to admire Palermo, we enjoy lunch together in a typical Sicilian restaurant of the centre as a welcome to our wine and gastronomy experience in this beautiful region. We have a short visit of Monreale in the afternoon.
Featuring winding lanes and alleys, with fine views out to sea, Monreale is best known for its incredible cathedral. We discover the intriguing fusion of Byzantine, Norman and Arabic architectural styles, as well as the lavish interiors, decorated with superb mosaics depicting scenes from Biblical scripture.
An aperitivo is organized at the hotel tonight as we listen to a local guide/espert talking about Sicilian wines and food.

Day 3- MOTZIA – WINERY – ERICE
We begin the day with a morning visit of the local Salt production located on the coastline between the cities of Trapani and Marsala. Locals extract the salt from the seawater following the same procedure used by the ancient Greeks and Phoenicians who once colonized this part of the Sicily. The area is also famous for its great wines and today we visit one of the top estates in the area and have a tasting of different wines for lunch accompanied by local products. In the afternoon we continue for Erice, a wonderful and mysterious medieval town made famous in ancient times as the birthplace of Venus. Walking through the cobbled – stoned streets of the town, smelling a variety of aromas emanating from the numerous pastry shops for which Erice is famous.
We stop at a local pastry shop to try a selection of fantastic product accompanied by the sweet Marsala wine. We then enjoy some time in the historical town of Erice, located on top of a mountain 750 meters above sea level and overlooking the city of Trapani. After some free time to explore, we return to our hotel in Palermo. Dinner in the hotel restaurant.
Day 4 – CEFALU – TAORMINA
Our tour of Sicily continues today, as we travel to Taormina. We start with a stop en route to the famous town of Cefalù, situated on a rocky cliff and listed within the most beautiful hamlets in Italy. Here we have a fish lunch in a local renowed restaurant of the centre. We continue our trip to Taormina which in the early afternoon. Dating back to the 4th century BC, Taormina is a mountainside city that has grown in popularity as a holiday resort, owing to its delightful architecture and breathtaking views of Mount Etna. Best known for the well-preserved Teatro Greco, a traditional Greek-style amphitheatre, Taormina also boasts a charming ruined castle, the Castelmola, public gardens at the Villa Comunale, and typical ancient Italian streets, perfect for a leisurely stroll.
We accommodate at our hotel for two nights and enjoy some free time here. Dinner in the hotel restaurant with a selection of regional dishes from this part Sicily accompanied by the Etna wines.
Day 5 – MOUNT ETNA
Today we travel to glorious Mount Etna, a true Italian icon. Boasting the title of Europe’s largest active volcano, Mount Etna is the highlight of any Sicilian adventure. After a guided visit, we stop at a local estate for a guided visits and lunch. We return to Taormina about mid afternoon and have free time to further explore this fantastic town with incredible setting.
Dinner tonight is organized at a local restaurant to experience the atmosphere of this fantastic location on the Mediterranean
Day 6 – CATANIA – COOKING CLASS
Today we travel to Catania in the early morning. Catania has a beautiful historical centre and a famous fish market where our guide will point out the best deals and suggest groceries to buy for our cooking class this morning. After lunch with plenty of local wines to sample, we will have some free time in the main square, the lovely Piazza Duomo and main shopping street before we transfer to our hotel for the next three nights in Siracusa. Rest of the day is free. Dinner in the hotel restaurant.
Day 7 – SYRACUSE
A full day tour to the ancient city of Syracuse on the island of Ortigia. We will visit the archaeological zone to see the Roman Amphitheatre and the Spring of Arethusa Fountain. Light lunch is included in the centre. There will be some free time to enjoy the city in the afternoon. Farewell dinner tonight is organized in one of the best restaurants in Sicily with a tasting menu including an ample selection of wines.
Day 8 – NOTO-RAGUSA-MODICA
A day dedicated to discover the Baroque in Sicily and the beautiful towns of Noto, the capital of the Sicilian Baroque, Ragusa & Modica and enjoy lunch in the area accompanied by the local Nero d’Avola wine. Today we visit of the the most famous estates in Sicily as we say arrivederci to Italy and to a memorable experience. Dinner in the hotel restaurant.
