From San Daniele ham to the pestàt from Fagagna: gastronomic excellences and Slow Food presidia in the Friuli Collinare area

In San Daniele del Friuli we have the opportunity to taste the famous and homonymous ham, produced here thanks to an ideal microclimate that guarantees perfect maturing.

We taste one of Friuli Venezia Giulia’s six Slow Food presidia in Fagagna in the Friuli Collinare area: the pestàt, a preserve-seasoning that contains the fragrances of local herbs and vegetables in pork lard.

We also taste the mindricule, a typical local sausage, and then the renowned smoked trout of the San Daniele area.

…..ricotte and cheeses, among which the Aqua cheese from Fagagna, which can be mild or mature.

In the Friuli Collinare area excellent wines such as DOC Prosecco in San Daniele del Friuli and organic wines will give the opportunity for guided tastings as we visit the local cellars . Eventually aromatic grappe matches perfectly to delicious handmade cakes.
