- Day 1 – Bologna
We arrive in Bologna early afternoon and have an orientation tour before accommodating at our boutique hotel. Buffet dinner is organized in the hotel restaurant room with a selection of delicacies from the area
- Day 2 – Exploring Bologna
The bustling city of Bologna has an unspoilt historic centre, where charming narrow streets are filled with activity and lined with arched porticos and arcaded walkways, all clustered around two main squares, Piazza Maggiore and Piazza del Nettuno. The latter is also home to the striking Neptune’s Fountain, a symbol of the city, decorated with magnificent bronze figures. The compact and intricate centre of Bologna, surrounded by the remains of its medieval walls, is perfect for exploring on foot. The city is home to the oldest university in Europe, is famous for its red-tiled roofs and is known for its love of fine food and cooking. After a morning walking guided visit, we enjoy some free time to explore before our visit and dinner in a local farmhouse located in the hills near Bologna. A special evening accompanied by some of the local wines, typical rustic products as well as a traditional musical entertainment
- Day 3 – Parma & Bologna
Today we travel to the Italian city of Parma, a city bursting with art and culture and the home of Parma ham and Parmesan. We enjoy a guided tour of the city, including the octagonal towered baptistry, which was built from the pink marble of Verona. The baptistry sits in the corner of the cobbled Piazza del Duomo, on which stands Parma’s cathedral. Following the tour you have chance to explore Parma further at your own pace.Out tour continue with a visit to a local Parma ham producer in Langhirano where we visit the museum of Parma ham and cheese and enjoy lunch with a selection of products
- Day 4 – At leisure in Bologna – Today you are free to continue exploring Bologna at leisure. Art lovers will enjoy the fantastic Pinacoteca Nazionale (National Art Gallery of Bologna), while those feeling energetic should take the chance to ascend the Torre degli Asinelli, which offers fantastic views across the red rooftops of the city centre. Also the city of Florence is not very far. Why not take the Highspeed train from nearby Bologna High Speed Railway Station (walking distance from the hotel) and experience the 40 minutes ride to Florence for a half day in the city and excellent shopping before traveling back home. Dinner tonight is organized in a local restaurant of the centre within walking distance from the hotel.
- Day 5 – Bologna-Tuscany – This morning we travel to Montecatini Terme, famous spa town in Tuscany yet not far from Florence. We accomodate at our hotel on arrival and have a short orientation tour of the town. The afternoon is dedicated to visiting a local pasta production artigianal plant where an explanation will be held by our host. Dinner in the hotel restaurant.
- Day 6 – A day at leisure in Tuscany – An opportunity to visit the picturesque spa town and have treatments in one of the local spas. The afternoon is dedicated to a lecture on tuscan regional dishes in a local resort & restaurant where our chef will demostrate his abilities by preparing traditional recipes which you will taste tonight
