Today we will visit The Piazza del Campo. It’s the principal public space of the historic center of Siena, Tuscany, Italy and is regarded as one of Europe’s greatest medieval squares. It is renowned worldwide for its beauty and architectural integrity. The Synagogue of Siena is just a few steps away from Piazza del Campo.
At the end of the visit, we continue for San Gimignano – San Gimignano is an Italian town built on a hill in Tuscany, south-west of Florence. Surrounded by 13th century walls, the old town is organized around Piazza della Cisterna, a triangular square lined with medieval houses. Several medieval towers rise above the city, notably the Torre Grossa, built in stone. We have free time for lunch and to explore the so called, “City of the Towers”. 14 of the original 100 towers are still visible today and many of these are private residences.
