An experience to find out the original Italian culinary tradition in sought locations of Tuscany. A great opportunity to combine the passion of discovery and the pleasure of cooking. Hands-on cooking classes provide an ideal avenue for learning about local flavors and trends. In addition, a way to visit beautiful places in Tuscany and savor the most important wine productions in the area.
Arrival at Florence or Pisa Airport and transfer to our hotel in Montecatini Terme. Special welcome dinner in the hotel restaurant with seasonal dishes including a briefing on local products and traditional recipes.
Early morning departure for Lucca, a city of culinary traditions and incredible cultural heritage. Visit of the town with a walking tour of the center with an itinerant brunch to discover the local products. We have our main course in a historic restaurant of the centre. You are free to explore afterwards. Return to Montecatini Terme for dinner and overnight.
Early morning dedicated to visiting a bakery laboratory. Clients will have a lesson concerning the production of different kinds of breads and the famous « Cialde di Montecatini », a sweet wafer buiscuit. We visit Leonardo’s Museum in Vinci afterwards and taste wines, cheese, cold cuts and olive oils of this part of Chianti called “Chianti Montalbano”. Later, in the afternoon, we visit an historic chocolate factory and have a chocolate tasting. Dinner in Montecatini Terme.
Great dishes start from a selection of great ingredients. We start this morning shopping in some local stores and continue to pick up our ingredients in the farm vegetable garden. Different workgroups will be assembling the dishes as they prepare our typical meal together. Tonight dinner will be based on today’s work.
A day dedicated to discovering the flavours and wines of the Bolgheri Doc area, one of the most famous wine producing areas in the world. After a visit of the pretty village of Bolgheri, we stop at a local winery to visit the cellar and have a tasting of wines. We continue for the nearby village of Castagneto Carducci and enjoy lunch with a selection of regional dishes. We discover the mediaeval village in the afternoon and learn the secrets of a local liquor production.
We return to Montecatini Terme for dinner in the hotel restaurant.
Today we discover the Chianti, its productions, its castles as well as its marvellous panoramas. We start with a morning visit to a butcher’s shop in the pretty village of Greve and have a tasting of cold cuts for lunch before transferring to a nearby castle. Upon our arrival we have a short introduction of the historic property held by our host. We return to Montecatini Terme for dinner and overnight.
Early morning visit of Pistoia and its historical center, with its roman style Cathedral where many famous architects, such as Filippo Brunelleschi, have worked. We experience an itinerant tasting of local specialties for lunch as we explore the city and have our main course in a local historical restaurant. Our last afternoon is dedicated to a final cooking class under the attentive supervision of the hotel chef that today will concentrate on cakes and various desserts. Farewell dinner in the hotel restaurant.
